Sugar Mummy Ireland respects your privacy. Discretion is central to this community, and that starts with how we handle your data. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Irish data protection law.
1. Data We Collect
Information you give us:
- Registration data — email address, chosen username, date of birth (to confirm you are 18+), and your role (sugar mummy or sugar baby).
- Profile data — photos, bio text, location (city/county level), preferences and anything else you choose to add.
- Messages — communications you send and receive through on-platform messaging.
- Support and reports — anything you send us when contacting support or reporting another member.
Information collected automatically:
- Technical data — IP address, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from IP.
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, and timestamps, used to operate and improve the site.
We do not collect payment card details on this site, and we never ask for your bank details — as our safety guidance explains, any member who does should be reported.
2. Why We Use Your Data

3. Who We Share Data With
- Other members — only the profile information and messages you choose to share inside the platform.
- Service providers — hosting, email delivery, security and analytics providers who process data on our behalf under contract, in the EU/EEA or under appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for any transfer outside it.
- Authorities — where we are legally required to, or where necessary to protect members from serious harm.
4. Cookies
We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, protect the site, and measure usage. Strictly necessary cookies run by default; analytics cookies run only with your consent via the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time and can also control cookies through your browser settings.
5. How Long We Keep Data
- Active accounts — for as long as your account exists.
- Deleted accounts — profile content is removed from view immediately and deleted or anonymised from production systems within 90 days.
- Messages — retained while either party's account remains active; removed following account deletion as above.
- Safety, fraud and legal records — kept only for as long as necessary to enforce our Terms of Service and comply with legal obligations.
6. Your Rights Under GDPR
As a user in Ireland and the EU, you have the right to:
- access a copy of your personal data;
- correct inaccurate data;
- delete your data ("right to be forgotten") — the fastest way is deleting your account in settings;
- restrict or object to certain processing, including marketing;
- data portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used format;
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting prior processing;
- complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie) if you believe your data has been mishandled.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We respond within one month.
7. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls and ongoing monitoring. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so we also encourage members to protect themselves: use a unique password, choose photos that aren't reused from public social media, and keep identifying details private until trust is established — see our FAQ for practical discretion tips.
8. Children
This site is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn an account belongs to a minor, it is removed immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with its revision date, and material changes are flagged to members by email or on-site notice.
10. Contact
